Pregnant Missouri Mother Escorted off Disney Cruise by Armed Guards

Disney is facing backlash after a Missouri mother of two who is pregnant with her third child was barred from boarding a dream Disney cruise ship.

According to the cruise ship, Emily Jackson, 22, was too pregnant to be on the ship.

Jackson is 25 weeks pregnant and was cleared by a doctor to sale from PortMiami, Florida but due to a company rule, anyone over 25 weeks pregnant is barred from sailing.

The mother missed the cut off by one week and 10 members of her family left the ship. Jackson had posted a video of her incident on her YouTube channel which sparked major backlash against the cruise ship.

Despite Jackson reading the fine print, she said it didn’t cross her mind as the trip was booked last minute.
“I was shocked,” she told Inside Edition. “When they brought armed guards out, I was crying.”

“While we understand the guests’ disappointment with not being able to board the ship, for health and safety reasons, our policy does not allow women who have reached the 24th week of pregnancy to travel, which is consistent with other cruise lines and is noted on our website and in travel documents our guests receive before sailing. The Miami-Dade Police Department is responsible for security at the port and handled the situation as they felt appropriate given the guest’s actions,” a spokesperson for Disney Cruise Line said to Inside Edition.
