Match Has Launched a New Dating App for Single Parents

Dating is rough when you have children, but it may not be as rough when you gather at a watering hole that only has single parents at it.

That concept is becoming a reality as dating giant Match just launched its latest app that is aimed for connecting single parents.

Dubbed Stir, the app is meant for connecting single parents, a community of 20 million in the U.S. that “are oftentimes underserved on mainstream dating apps,” the company said in a release.

Stir may ask users questions like what a perfect night without the kids would look like, how you approach social situations, what you do on weekends, your favorite guilty pleasure, whether you drink, what sort of pets you have and more. Users are then prompted to add their photos and fill out the rest of their profile.

Match is a division of Match Group, which owns more than a dozen apps, including the widely used Tinder, OK Cupid and Hinge.

The company has been expanding its portfolio to including communities who may not be served by traditional apps, including single parents. The company also has Our Time, a dating site for
people over 50, and Hawaya, an app for Muslim singles.

The Stir app lets users display what is typically their “me time,” away from obligations and kids, so matches can easily coordinate calendars.

“We’re dedicated to giving single parents a dating experience where they are celebrated and feel like they can be themselves. With that, our hope is that they can truly focus on having a personal life beyond navigating parenthood,” Match Group’s VP of New Verticals Dinh Thi Bui said in a statement.
