Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak Says He May Have Been First Coronavirus Case in U.S.

It seems highly unusual that someone would want to confess that they may have been the first coronavirus case in the United States but that’s what Apple’s co-founder Steve Wozniack is doing.

He claimed on Monday that he and his wife may have been the first coronavirus cases in the U.S., writing on Twitter that he and his wife Janet had both had a bad cough in early January when they had returned from China.

In another tweet, Wozniak said that on Jan. 10, he was recovering from a serious illness he had caught on a cruise.
Wozniak told KCBS Radio about a trip to Asia in early January, saying he flew from Hong Kong to the U.S. on January 4 with what he says was the worst flu of his life.

“We certainly would have been tested and quarantined if we came back today,” he said.

“But we came back on January 4. There was no recognition of it then,” he said. “So we slipped through the cracks. How many people slipped through the cracks?”

USA Today however has said that his wife Janet denied having been infected with the coronavirus, saying she was
diagnosed with a sinus condition.

Steve however said that at one point Janet had coughed up blood and that medical tests couldn’t pinpoint what she had.

“All they could say was that she didn’t have anything American. She had a virus, but they didn’t know what,” Wozniak remarked.

Wozniak had founded Apple along with Steve Jobs in 1976 and is credited with inventing the Apple I personal computer.
Apple began reopening its stores in China last month.
