Disney’s CEO Thinks This Could Have Happened if Steve Jobs Were Alive
According to Disney’s CEO Bob Iger, if Steve Jobs were still alive today, the company may have combined with Apple.
If Jobs had lived past the year 2011, Iger believes Disney would have discussed a merger with the iPhone maker. This is according to a passage from Iger’s new biography that was published in Vanity Fair.
“With every success the company has had since Steve’s death, there’s always a moment in the midst of my excitement when I think, I wish Steve could be here for this,” Iger wrote.
“It’s impossible not to have the conversation with him in my head that I wish I could be having in real life. More than that, I believe that if Steve were still alive, we would have combined our companies, or at least discussed the possibility very seriously.”
If Apple and Disney were to merge today, it would be the biggest acquisition in history and more than likely wouldn’t even be approved by regulators.
It was last week that Iger left the board of Apple after Apple announced its entrance into the streaming arena with Apple TV+. He joined the board in 2011.
