Payless Just Pranked its VIPS by Offering Their Shoes at Luxury Prices
The last thing you would expect when you walk into a Payless store is to find shoes with a price tag that belongs on Rodeo Drive.
In an effort to prank its VIPs, Payless opened a fake store that sold high prices shoes under a bogus name called Palessi.
VIP shoppers paid as much as $645 for shoes that sell from $19.99 to $39.99 at Payless stores.
A launch party for the brand was held in Los Angeles where fashionistas came to sample the merchandise.
The store saw sales of $3,000 before Payless revealed the prank. One shopper said, “Shut up! Are you serious?”
Shoppers were able to keep their shoes and were refunded.
