United Airlines Reaches Resolution with Family of Dog that Died in Overhead Bin
It was news that shocked pet lovers across the world when it was reported that United Airlines was responsible for the death of a French bulldog puppy on one of its flights.
According to developments, the airline has reached a “resolution” with the owners of the puppy that died.
Little Kokito was a French bulldog that had died on a flight back in March when it was placed in an overhead bin. A flight attendant had insisted that the dog’s owner’s bag, which contained the puppy, be placed in an overhead bin. The owner had told the attendant that the dog was in the bag but the attendant did not hear her or understand her.
United Airlines has since changed its program for transporting pets, PetSafe, and has even banned certain breeds. The airline said it would also not accept animals for transport in several cities including Las Vegas and Phoenix during the hot summer months.
The airline stated, “We are deeply sorry for this tragic accident and have worked with the Robledo family to reach a resolution.”
The financial details of the resolution have not been disclosed.
