Twitter Notifies More Users Exposed to Possible Russian Propaganda

Posted on

Twitter had said earlier this month that it would be emailing 677,775 people in the U.S. who either liked, followed, or retweeted content from accounts that were associated with possible Russian propaganda during the 2016 Presidential election.

The content was generated by a suspected Russian propaganda service called Internet Research Agency (IRA).

Twitter said it will not be notifying all people who saw the content that was pushed by the IRA but said it would be focusing on types of interactions.

The IRA reportedly employs hundreds of people who push Pro-Kremlin content under phony social media accounts.
