This is Why Twitter Will Not Block President Trump’s Tweets

There’s no denying that there have been some pretty controversial tweets on Twitter from President Trump, but they remained on the social network for the world to see.

Twitter said that by blocking world leaders from its service, or removing controversial tweets, it would hide important information.

The company does not want to get in the way of the communication that elected officials and political leaders have on its platform.

The company wrote in a blog post, “Blocking a world leader from Twitter or removing their controversial Tweets, would hide important information people should be able to see and debate. It would also not silence that leader, but it would certainly hamper necessary discussion around their words and actions.”
