Netflix to End “House of Cards” After Kevin Spacey Allegations

It looks like “House of Cards” is finished. Netflix has decided to indefinitely suspend the show.

Netflix previously made the decision to end its hit show “House of Cards” after season six, in light of recent allegations against the star of the show, Kevin Spacey.

Despite the coincidental timing, sources close to the situation had previously said the decision has nothing to do with the allegations against Spacey.

“MRC [Media Rights Capital] and Netflix have decided to suspend production on ‘House of Cards’ season six, until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew,” Netflix and production company Media Rights Capital said in a joint statement.

In recent days, actor Anthony Rapp had told BuzzFeed that Spacey made sexual advances at him when he was just 14 years old at a party.

Spacey addressed the allegation and said he did not remember the event but apologized and blamed it on “deeply inappropriate drunken behavior.”

“House of Cards” had been nominated for 33 prime-time Emmy Awards.
