Amazon Has Big Plans With Prime Wardrobe

Amazon made headlines all over for its nearly $14 billion acquisition announcement of Whole Foods. Now the online retailer is focusing on another category – fashion.

Amazon announced on Tuesday that ts clothing department Amazon Fashion, will be rolling out a service called Prime Wardrobe.

The service is still in beta testing right now, but according to the company, shoppers can sign up to be notified of when the program would launch in certain markets.

Prime Wardrobe is a subscription service that is similar to Trunk Club. It includes brands outside of the company’s private labels, like Adidas and Levi’s, and allows customers to order items like shoes and clothing with no upfront charge. You only pay for what you decide to keep. Shoppers are given seven days to decide what they want and don’t want.
Shipments will come in a resealable box and will even have a prepaid label.

“Prime Wardrobe is a new service that brings the fitting room to you, so you can try the latest styles and find your perfect fit before you buy,” Amazon stated.

The service will be available to all Prime memberships and as a bonus, for every five or more items kept, Amazon will give the customer 20% off of those items. Keeping three or four items would give the shopper a 10% discount on the website.
