Customers Complain That LuLaRoe’s Leggings Rip Like Toilet Paper
The last thing you want is for your pants to “rip like toilet paper” while you are wearing them.
LuLaRoe is facing some major backlash from its customers after widespread complaints have revealed that the company’s popular leggings are ripping and have holes in just after a few hours of wear.
This is pretty serious considering that one pair of the company’s leggings will set you back $25. The company distributes the leggings through a network of “consultants” who sell to their friends at parties held in homes. Think tupperware but for leggings.
Business Insider obtained a company email that shows the company is well aware of this problem.
Head of production for LuLaRoe stated in a January 17th email to its salespeople, “The leggings may get holes, because we weaken the fibers to make them buttery soft. We have done all we can to fix them.”
A LuLaRoe representative told Business Insider that the company still stands behind the integrity and quality of its products and takes concerns seriously.
“By and large, consumers love our products,” wrote the representative. “We encourage our independent retailers to remind their customers that they can contact them to help facilitate an immediate exchange or full refund if they are unsatisfied with their product.”
“These pants rip like wet toilet paper,” said one customer, Valerie Williams, 35, of Syracuse, New York to Business Insider. She bought five pairs of LuLaRoe leggings and says two of them tore as soon as she put them on. “This must be a widespread issue,” she said.
It is. Apparently thousands of customers complained on social media and to the Better Business Bureau. A facebook group that is devoted to stories on LuLaRoe’s leggings being damaged had more than 11,000 members last week.
The company advises sellers to accept customers’ returns and offer them an exchange or refund.
