Oscar Winner Casey Affleck Finally Addresses The Sexual Harassment Claims

Casey Affleck’s Oscar win for Manchester By The Sea was not well received by many due to his past sexual harrassment allegations.

The star has remained very silent about the lawsuit he settled years ago, which involved two women who claimed he harrassed them on the 2010 film I’m Still Here.

He has been the topic of many social media tweets and posts and has been criticized for his award and even his Golden Globe nomination.

The Boston Globe interviewed Affleck and asked him about the criticism.

According to the Globe, Affleck “paused and sighed heavily” and said that both sides in the case are prohibited from commenting and that people don’t really know what happened.

“I believe that any kind of mistreatment of anyone for any reason is unacceptable and abhorrent, and everyone deserves to be treated with respect in the workplace and anywhere else,” Affleck said.

“There’s really nothing I can do about it, other than live my life the way I know I live it and to speak to what my own values are and how I try to live by them all the time.”
