United States Unemployment Claims Are Near 3 Month High
Last week the number of Americans that filed for unemployment benefits surged to a near three-month high.
The Labor Department said on Thursday that initial claims for state unemployment benefits increased 7,000 to a seasonally adjusted 265,000 for the week ended Oct. 29, the highest level since early August.
On a positive note, it is now the 87th consecutive week that claims are under 300,000.
