Period Proof Underwear Could Be The New Craze

The feminine hygiene market is worth $15 billion, a whopping number that makes sense as millions upon millions of women have their period regularly each month.

Thinx is a company that’s out for blood. They are revolutionizing the sector by offering new period-proof underwear.

So ladies, when it’s the time of the month, now you can just pull on the period panties and forget pads and tampons.

Thinx co-founder and CEO Miki Agrawal told Yahoo Finance’s Alexis Christoforou that the company is “breaking the taboo surrounding menstruation” by disrupting a category that has only had three major innovations in the 20th century.

“This is one of the first few products made by women for women. Most feminine hygiene products were invented by men, like the tampon,” said Agrawal. “This product really considered all the desires and all the needs women need. ”

What needs does this include? To look and feel like a regular pair of underwear and to have the appropriate functionality.

Agrawal said there’s more planned for Thinx in the future. “We’re scaling new products. We’re disrupting different aspects of the feminine hygiene market.”
