A Rio Tinto Mine Has Pulled Titanium From This Rock For Decades. Now a Small Explorer Owns the Ground Next Door.
You’ve trusted your life to titanium more than once without ever knowing it.
It holds together the jet you’ve flown on…the spacecraft soaring above you…and the implants surgeons place inside the human body.
Titanium is incredibly valuable because it’s as strong as steel at half the weight and it barely corrodes.
The only problem is…most of the world is short of it.
The United States makes none of the raw titanium sponge its factories run on. It imports every pound.
“China and Russia Make Critical Minerals Grabs…While the U.S. Snoozes”
Russia and China sit near the top of the global supply chain. That’s a massive problem…and it’s why titanium now appears on the critical minerals lists in both Canada and the United States.
Of course, aerospace and defense demand for titanium doesn’t care about supply issues at all.
That demand continues to climb while supply stays concentrated, which means the race is on to develop new titanium closer to home.
And the companies that get there first stand to be rewarded.
One of those companies that appears well-positioned in this space is Eureka Metals Corp. (CSE: ERKA); (OTCQB: UREKF), a small Canadian explorer pursuing potentially lucrative titanium opportunities in Quebec.
The company’s flagship project, called Tyee, sits about 65 kilometers north of Rio Tinto’s Lac Tio mine, which has produced titanium for decades and is the world’s largest hard-rock titanium mine.1
In exploration, the smart money often looks for the next discovery close to the last one. Major mines rarely stand alone.
They sit inside larger systems that can hold more than one deposit. Eureka Metals’ Tyee Project is staked in the same district that feeds Lac Tio.1
What pulled the Eureka Metals team to the Tyee Project was the rock itself.
As they crossed the property with a handheld instrument, it kept lighting up. The team members would dig down and hit high-grade titanium-bearing mineralization right at surface, over and over.
On the best ground, the biggest outcrops sat in the open…there’s often no digging required.
Surface samples at the Tyee Project have been very impressive, running as high as 36% titanium dioxide.2
The company is in the field now, sharpening its targets and working toward a potential upcoming drill program.
And Eureka Metals Corp. has the balance sheet to follow through on its plans. The company is well capitalized and ready to fund that drilling, which means it can put money in the ground and find out what is there before it ever has to ask shareholders for more.
Now while titanium is the company’s primary focus, there is a second property with additional high-upside potential worth considering as well.
Eureka Metals also holds the Cabin Lake Project in British Columbia, a silver, gold, lead and zinc property that gives shareholders a second way to win.
Here now are more details, including seven reasons to take a closer look at this stock today.
7 Reasons
Why You Should Strongly Consider Eureka Metals Corp. (CSE: ERKA); (OTCQB: UREKF)
1
The World Can’t Get Enough Titanium… and The West Is Short Of It.
Titanium is one of the few metals that modern aerospace, defense and medicine cannot do without. And it’s getting harder to source. Both Canada and the United States now list it as a critical mineral, the kind governments treat as essential to national security. Yet the U.S. makes none of its own sponge, while China and Russia control most of the world’s supply. As defense and aerospace budgets climb, demand keeps rising and the push for new sources of titanium closer to home keeps getting louder. That makes Eureka Metals’ Tyee Project in Quebec an attractive way to play that demand…a high-grade titanium prospect in one of North America’s top mining jurisdictions.
2
Eureka Metals Holds a Dominant Land Position In a Premier Titanium District
Eureka Metals went big, as its flagship Tyee Project covers a district-scale 101.3 square kilometers, a dominant land position in this part of Quebec’s titanium country. Earlier explorers staked the region, ran the first real surveys, then turned their attention elsewhere. Eureka stepped in and picked up this valuable ground that had already shown promise…and consolidated the best of it under one roof. The Tyee Project already holds three standout targets, Big TiO, NS Trend and East Nugget, each of which is defined by surface sampling and geophysical anomalies with real size behind them. This means that Eureka Metals is starting with known targets and a stack of prior data already in hand.
3
Geologists love a good neighbor. Eureka’s Tyee Project has one of the best in the business. Just 65 kilometers to the south sits Rio Tinto’s Lac Tio mine1, the largest hard-rock titanium-bearing ilmenite mine in the world, pulling roughly three million tonnes of ore a year and doing it for decades. The Tyee Project is located within the same regional geological district as Lac Tio. Of course, that location guarantees nothing…nearby ground never does. But it does mean that the rock in this region has a proven track record just down the road. For a small company, sitting in the same district as a profitable, decades-old titanium mine is about as strong a starting point as exploration offers.
4
Grab samples taken straight off the outcrop at Eureka’s Tyee Project have run as high as 36% titanium dioxide, a striking grade for rock sitting right at surface2. And the grades are not confined to one lucky outcrop. All three targets returned high-grade titanium, with Big TiO, East Nugget and NS Trend each averaging in the low-to-mid 30s and each sitting on a geophysical anomaly with size behind it. The samples carry vanadium and scandium as well, two more critical metals, with scandium running as high as 39.6 grams per tonne. High grades like these are exactly the kind of numbers that generate excitement about the potential for a project…and Eureka Metals appears uniquely positioned to build on that excitement.
5
Infrastructure in Place: The Roads, Power and Port Are Already Built
Plenty of promising deposits stay in the ground because they’re too far from power, a road or a port to ever be built. That’s not an issue for Eureka Metals’ Tyee Project. A $7 billion hydroelectric complex sits less than 10 kilometers away. A government-maintained road reached the area in 2024, with rail and a deep-water port waiting at Havre-St-Pierre. And Rio Tinto is pouring another $733 million into its nearby operations through 2030. That’s the kind of spending that keeps a region’s roads, power and workforce in good shape. This is established mining country, with a workforce and regulators that already know the business…and Eureka Metals is right in the thick of it.
6
Cashed Up And Closing In On the Drill
Eureka Metals is working toward the moment every explorer builds toward: putting a drill in the ground. The team is in the field at Tyee now, sharpening targets and refining the geophysics behind them. And Eureka is well capitalized, having recently closed a financing in May 2026 for over $6m CAD, which means it’s ready to fund exploration, and will put dollars in the ground to test these targets before further dilution to shareholders. That combination of having money in the bank and a drill on the horizon can be difficult to find in a junior. Every step from here, more sampling, more geophysics, the move toward those first drill holes, is another chance to put fresh results in front of the market and capture the attention of larger investors or potential partners.
7
A Second Project With High-Grade Silver Upside
The Race For New Titanium Is On
What makes titanium so valuable is that almost nothing else can do its job as well.
In a jet engine or an airframe, you need a metal that is light enough to fly, strong enough to take enormous stress and tough enough to hold up under extreme heat.
Titanium checks all three boxes, which is why engineers reach for it where failure is not an option.
High Strength-to-Weight Ratio: As strong as steel but 45% lighter.
Corrosion Resistance: Highly resistant to seawater, aqua regia, and chlorine.
Biocompatibility: Does not react with or reject human tissue.
“US must ramp up titanium capacity to avoid squeeze”
And demand for titanium only keeps building.
Aircraft makers are ramping production while next-generation engines run hotter and burn through more titanium than the ones they replace. Defense budgets across the West are climbing on top of that, with the medical market demanding even more titanium.
The numbers reflect this surge in demand.
The global titanium market sat near $30 billion in 2025 and is forecast to reach roughly $57 billion by 2034, with the aerospace slice alone growing close to 8% a year through the end of the decade.v
Governments are moving quickly to try and match the demand with secure supply.
The US opened a national security investigation into critical mineral imports in 2025 and lawmakers have introduced legislation aimed squarely at the titanium supply chain.
“President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday aimed at immediately increasing American production of critical minerals …by invoking the Defense Production Act to expand leasing and development on federal lands. The move is intended to help the US reduce its reliance on imports from countries like China, which dominates the industry for production and processing of many of these important materials.”
“As demand grows for the critical minerals needed to digitize and decarbonize our economies, resource-rich Canada is solidifying crucial links in a transparent, sustainable and secure supply chain.”
Canada has gone further, building a national strategy around the critical metals it wants to mine and process at home.
When governments start writing policy and signing checks, the metals at the center of it tend to draw capital.
A small explorer with a credible North American titanium source – like Eureka Metals Corp. (CSE: ERKA); (OTCQB: UREKF) – could hardly ask for a better backdrop.
Eureka’s Tyee Project: High-Potential Exploration Taking Shape Beside a Titanium Giant
The story of Tyee started by accident.
Eureka’s team was in eastern Quebec hunting nickel and copper, flying airborne surveys and following the anomalies on foot. A handheld detector kept lighting up as they walked.
So they dug.
Time after time, the rock came back as high-grade ilmenite, the main ore of titanium.
In the richest spots, the outcrops did not need digging at all. They sat right out in the open. One look at the giant hill of mineralization was enough to mark the spot for the first drill hole.
That hill sits in Quebec’s Havre-St-Pierre Anorthosite Complex, the same titanium-rich rock that hosts Rio Tinto’s Lac Tio mine 65 kilometers south, a mine that has produced at scale for decades.
Eureka holds one of the largest land packages in the district, 101.3 square kilometers pulled together from ground earlier explorers opened up and then walked away from.
Of course, a proven mine in the same rock guarantees nothing next door…but it is a benchmark most explorers never get to point to.
And at Eureka’s Tyee Project, the grades back up the excitement.
Surface samples have run as high as 36% titanium dioxide across three standout targets, Big TiO, NS Trend and East Nugget2.
Each target averages in the low-to-mid 30s and sits on a geophysical anomaly with real size behind it, some stretching two to three kilometers along strike. The rock carries vanadium and scandium too, the latter as high as 39.6 grams per tonne.2
Tyee also comes with the infrastructure already built.
A $7 billion hydroelectric complex sits less than 10 kilometers away. A government road reached the area in 2024, with rail and a deep-water port at Havre-St-Pierre. And Rio Tinto is investing another $733 million in the region through 2030.
This is established mining country, the kind of place where a successful discovery can benefit from strong existing infrastructure.
A Team That Has Successfully
Built and Sold Companies Before
A junior is only as good as the people running it.
Eureka’s team has successfully built and sold companies before. CEO Danny Matthews is a securities lawyer who has spent years on the company-building side of the junior market.
He was a founding director of a company later acquired by Star Copper. He went on to found Miata Metals, a gold explorer that has drilled roughly 20,000 meters in the past year. Through his merchant bank, Three Peaks Capital, he has built a career identifying compelling opportunities, securing capital and helping companies articulate a clear growth strategy to the market.
Eureka Metals’ technical side is led by Ryan Versloot, a professional geologist with more than 20 years in the field and the man who found Tyee’s outcrops in the first place.
The market has already shown what it will pay for a titanium story.
Saga Metals (TSXV: SAGA), a junior working the same titanium and vanadium theme, has been one of the best performers in the space.
It recently moved into Eureka’s own backyard, acquiring a project from Rio Tinto near Havre-St-Pierre and has a current market cap of around $40 million.
Empire Metals (LON:EEE) went further still. On the back of a large titanium discovery, it climbed into the FTSE AIM 100 and a market cap of more than $330 million.
The company’s deposit is a different type than Tyee’s, so it is less a twin than a glimpse of the potential upside that a titanium discovery could bring.
Eureka Metals is a long way back from either of these companies, as it is still early in its work and priced like it…with a market cap of just around $20 million.
But for an investor who likes to be early, the potential for upside growth is the whole point.
Cabin Lake: A High-Grade Silver Bonus
Cabin Lake is Eureka Metals’ “bonus property”, a polymetallic project in British Columbia’s Stikine Terrane. The neighborhood is a proven one.
The property lies within roughly 15 kilometers of the past-producing Endako molybdenum mine and on trend with Artemis Gold’s large Blackwater gold and silver deposit.
Cabin Lake carries silver, gold, lead and zinc, with a history of high-grade hits. One drill hole returned 2,463 grams of silver per tonne over 0.6 meters.3
Most of that work predates modern exploration, back when assessment reports were written by hand.
Eureka is bringing modern mapping, sampling and geophysics to it this summer, with drilling to follow.
For shareholders, it adds real silver upside they are paying almost nothing for.
The case for Eureka Metals Corp. (CSE: ERKA); (OTCQB: UREKF) is straightforward.
Titanium is a critical metal the West cannot make enough of. Demand keeps climbing across aerospace, defense and medicine, with the market forecast to reach nearly $57 billion by 2034…and the money is starting to follow it.
Eureka Metals is exploring for titanium at its Tyee Project, which is located next to the largest hard-rock titanium mine in the world, on the dominant land position in the district, with high-grade samples already in hand.
The infrastructure is already built, the company is funded and advancing one of the most important catalysts in junior mining: drilling.
The market has responded positively to emerging titanium opportunities in the past…and as Eureka Metals (CSE: ERKA); (OTCQB: UREKF) is still early and small, there is plenty of room for upside ahead. Add a second high-grade silver project in British Columbia and you have multiple potential catalysts ahead.
