Tesla’s (TSLA) CEO Has A Top Secret Plan

Posted on

Elon Musk, the CEO of electric car powerhouse Tesla, just tweeted an update on his top secret plan. His tweet from Sunday read, “Working on Top Secret Tesla Masterplan, Part 2. Hoping to publish later this week.”

Could his secret plan have anything to do with the company’s auto pilot mode that has been making headlines lately?

On July 1st the company’s Model X crashed into a turnpike in Pennyslvania. According to Tesla, “Based on the information we have now, we have no reason to believe that Autopilot had anything to do with this accident.”

Back in May, a Florida crash had killed the driver of a Tesla Model S that was operating in Autopilot mode. This mode allows the car to keep itself in a lane while maintaining speed and operating for a limited time without the driver having to steer.
Maybe this top secret plan has something to do with Musk’s plan to combine Tesla with SolarCity, a solar panel maker. Musk is the company’s principal shareholder and serves as a chairman.

It was just in June that the company proposed to buy SolarCity and Musk expects the deal will help Tesla get into the market for sustainable energy for homes and businesses.

We will just have to wait and see what Musk has up his sleeve later this week.
