Kobe Bryant Launches $100 Million Venture Capital Fund

According to the Wall Street Journal, retired Los Angeles Lakers player Kobe Bryant has set up a $100 million venture capital fund that will make investments in technology, media, and data companies.

Bryant and tech entrepreneur and investor Jeff Stibel have launched Bryant Stibel, which will be based in Los Angeles. Stibel is the former chief executive of the public tech company Web.com.

Bryant and Stibel have invested in 15 businesses together since 2013 including video game design firm Scopely and sports media website The Players Tribune.

They are not currently seeking outside funding.
