Did Karl Lagerfeld Leave All His Money to a Cat?

Love him or hate him, there is no denying that Karl Lagerfeld was quite a character.

The fashion icon passed away this week at the age of 85 and his cat Choupette could be set to inherit a fortune.

Choupette, who Lagerfeld referred to as a “heiress,” has hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers. According to French magazine “Le Figaro,” Lagerfeld said in a past conversation that Choupette was an “heiress.”

Considering that the Chanel designer has an estimated fortune of $195 million, his trusted feline companion could stand to inherit a lot of money.

Chanel confirmed on Tuesday that Lagerfeld died. He had been the brand’s creative director since 1983.

“If something happens to me, the person who will take care of her will not be in misery,” said Lagerfeld in 2015.

According to Lagerfeld, Choupette had already earned more than $3 million from modelling jobs.
