This Walking Dead T-Shirt Was So Offensive It Was Pulled From Shelves

AMC’s hit series The Walking Dead offended a lot of viewers with its season premiere, when it revealed which characters met the fate of Negan’s barbed wire bat “Lucille.” The episode was a lot to stomach for hardcore fans, who became attached to two of the main characters who were killed off: Glenn and Abraham.

Primark, a Target type department store based in the United Kingdom, decided to come out with a t-shirt to celebrate this episode, and it did not get a good receiving. The shirt, which has a graphic image of Lucille, the baseball bat covered in barbed wire, also has the words, “Eeny Meeny Miny Moe.”

Due to the overwhelming negative feedback, Primark has been forced to remove the tee from its shelves after some called it “fantastically offensive.”

The original rhyme actually uses the “N” word instead of “catch a tiger by its toe,” and the subliminal message of the shirt could be a direct assault at black people.

A Primark spokesperson apologized for any offense caused and confirmed that the T-shirts had been removed from shelves of its 300 stores. The store is dominant throughout Europe and has two outposts in the United States, in Freehold, N.J. and Boston, Mass.
