Tiger Woods Had This To Say About His Arrest

Almost everyone has heard by now that Tiger Woods was arrested over the Memorial Day weekend in Florida.

He was arrested for driving under the influence on Monday night but according to the pro golfer, he was not under the influence of alcohol. Woods made a statement for the first time after the incident and said, “I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions. I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved… I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly. I would like to apologize with all my heart to my family, friends and the fans. I expect more from myself too.”

Woods has promised to do anything he can to make sure an incident like that doesnt happen again. He thanked the Jupiter Police Department as well as the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office for assisting him.

CNN reported that the golf star was arrested around 3 a.m. and was booked into jail. Kristin Rightler, a spokeswoman for Jupiter police had said Woods was released hours later without a bond.

Many have been concerned since the incident that Woods would lose his sponsorships. Nike, who has been with Woods for over 20 years made a statement and assured folks that they are sticking with Woods during this time.

It was in April that Woods under went surgery for his back and after the procedure he had wrote on his website, “It was instant nerve relief. I haven’t felt this good in years.”

He had also said, “The long-term prognosis is positive. My surgeon and physiotherapist say the operation was successful. It’s just a matter of not screwing up and letting it fuse. I’m walking and doing my exercises, and taking my kids to and from school. All I can do is take it day by day. There’s no hurry.”
