This Walking Dead Star Lived On $12 A Month
He plays Daryl Dixon on one of the most popular television shows in history, but he’s also a normal person who’s dealt with rejection like the rest of us.
Norman Reedus used to be a struggling actor before landing his crossbow waving role on “The Walking Dead.”
Before the show, Reedus bounced from one role to another and was even a model for Prada. This was also before his breakout roles in “The Boondock Saints” and “Blade II.”
“I mean, I’ve lived off $12 a month for probably a good portion of my life,” Reedus said to CNBC. “If it’s something you really want, you have to roll with the rejection.”
“I remember a long time ago I auditioned for something, and the casting person said, “Can you do it again but try to be better looking, like that guy from ‘Lost’?”
“I went, and I looked up “Lost,” and I was like, ‘There’s no way I’m going to be better looking than that guy from ‘Lost,'” said Reedus.
“You just kind of have to realize it’s cool to be you, and just try to be the best you,” he continued.
Well said considering that most men can’t look as good as the guy from “Lost.” If Reedus could make it from living on $12 a month to a hit series, there might be hope for the rest of us.
