In an election that had everybody on the edge of their seats, it was Donald Trump who emerged as the victor. Trump will become the United States’ 45th President after defeating Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

Many celebrities took to the internet to express their disbelief of the outcome.

Madonna, who is also a Clinton supporter, stated: “A New Fire Is Lit We Never Give Up. We Never Give In.”

Cher reacted by saying, “PLZ TELL ME THIS IS JUST A WICKED NIGHTMARE PLEASE TELL ME TO ” WAKE THE F**K UP CHER” IM TRYING 2 WAKE UP.”
