Sarah Jessica Parker Was Fired From These Two Movies
Sarah Jessica Parker visited Howard Stern’s show on SiriusXM and had a lot to say about being fired in Hollywood. The Sex and the City actress said she was fired from two animated features, Antz, and Home on the Range.
In the 1998 film Antz, Parker was cast as a princess ant, while in 2004’s Home on the Range, she was cast as a cow.
In regards to Antz, Parker told Stern, “The first time they were like, ‘We’re going in a different direction,’ which I’d always heard like as a joke. And then they brought in Sharon Stone. So I was like, oh, you really did go a different!”
Parker then recalled her experience with the film Home on the Range, which she mistakingly called At Close Range in the interview, a 1986 Sean Penn film.
“The week before they fired me, they called me to tell me how great I was! Which I felt like was a set-up. But I think they meant it at that time,” Parker said.
“I’ve had no success playing an animal,” she added.
