Remember the Menendez Brothers? One Is Happily Married..

Lyle Menéndez and his brother Erik have been in prison for the last 26 years after murdering their parents in 1989. While many speculated the boys did it to get their parents’ fortune, they insisted their father had sexually abused them and it was defense.

Either way, the men are locked up, and Lyle is 48 years old with a wife. He has been married to Rebecca Sneed since 2003 while serving his sentence at Mule Creek State Prison in California. In an interview with ABC News, he commented on his marriage.

“One thing I’ve learned is that your physical comfort is much less important than your connection with the people around you,” Menéndez said. “I’ve found I can have a healthy marriage that is complicated and built around conversation and finding creative ways to communicate, sharing, without all the props that are normally there in marriage in terms of going out to dinner and having as much intimate time together and so on.”

According to the ABC report, conjugal visits are prohibited for those sentenced to life without parole.
