Popeyes Sells Out of New Chicken Sandwich in Less Than a Month

Popeyes has a new chicken sandwich and it has been flying off the shelves. Or maybe the grills?

The fast food restaurant made a post to Twitter this week with a video announcing that the company is out of inventory of its new chicken sandwich.

It may have helped that Popeye’s has been in a Twitter war with Chick-Fil-A this month over the new sandwich and this could have prompted people to go out to try it.

For those who haven’t tried it, or for those who need it in their lives again, Popeye’s has said the sandwich would be back soon and this time it would be for good.

The sandwich had officially launched on Aug. 12, and Popeye’s called the first nationwide chicken sandwich their biggest launch in nearly 30 years.

“As a result, Popeyes restaurants across the country are expected to sell out of the Chicken Sandwich by the end of the week,” spokeswoman Brooke Scher Mogan said in a previous statement.

The company said that lines were wrapped around the restaurant starting at 8 a.m when it went on sale.
