Disney followed behind with 23 nominations, benefiting from its acquisition of 21st Century Fox, and Sony was third with 20 nods.
Warner Brothers’ “Joker” film scored 11 nominations, allowing the studio to have the most-nominated film of the year.
Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman” received 10 nominations, “Marriage Story” received six, “The Two Popes” earned three and Netflix’s first animated feature “Klaus” found itself on the best animated feature ballot.
Netflix also earned nominations for two feature documentaries, “American Factory” and “The Edge of Democracy,” as well as one documentary short called “Life Overtakes Me.”
It was this past December that Netflix had an impressive 17 nods for the Golden Globes but only won two awards.
