Kanye West Requests to Legally Change His Name to This
Rapper and husband of Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, has petitioned to legally change his moniker this week.
West has petitioned to legally change his name from Kanye West to just “YE” according to legal documents obtained by Variety.
The Variety report has revealed that in order for it to be official, a California judge must sign off. In many cases, the name change must also be published in several newspapers.
In the court documents, West wrote that the name change was for “personal reasons” without giving a further explanation.
The rapper is expected to host the third stadium-sized listening party on Thursday for his upcoming album “Donda” which will take place at Soldier Field in Chicago.
The New York Post has reported that West is rebuilding his childhood home in Chicago in the middle of the football stadium.
In a dramatic move this past weekend, Kanye wiped out his Instagram account and began reposting cryptic new photos.
The first photo was that of the 1,600 square foot home he shared with his beloved late mother Donda, who passed away suddenly in 2007.
With an original release date for the album last year, then on July 23rd of this year, and then again on August 6th of this year, it is unclear when the album will drop.
Rapper Drake’s upcoming album “Certified Lover Boy” has also been delayed with rumors now buzzing that the two will have an album-release battle.
