Greta Van Sustern’s FOX Exit Was Shocking For This Reason

Posted on

Greta Van Sustern has been a long-time Fox News host, up until this week. Although she was reportedly expected to leave the network in a few weeks, her departure came a lot faster than expected.

According to her husband, John Coale, Van Susteren had a courier visit her Washington, D.C. home at 9 a.m. Tuesday with two letters for her that said she “was being taken off the air” immediately.

Van Susteren assumed she would be hosting her 7 p.m. program “On the Record” for a few more weeks allowing her the opportunity to say goodbye. The “On the Record” web site, Van Susteren’s biography, and her Gretawire blog were all erased from FoxNews.com.

The FOX network announced Van Susteren’s departure less than an hour after the courier arrived at her home. Coale, an attorney, has said there could be possible litigation in the future stemming from this decision. He claims this was a message from Rupert Murdoch allegedly stemming from tense contract negotiations.
