Florida Man Accidentally Married His Own Granddaughter

It’s not everyday that you hear someone accidentally married their own relative, let alone their own granddaughter.

A Florida couple had been married for three months when they discovered that the bride was the groom’s biological granddaughter.

According to the Florida Sun Post, the 68-year-old husband and his 24 year old wife were looking through the man’s photo albums, which included pictures of his first wife and their children.

The 24-year-old bride recognized that one of the children was her estranged father. He had thrown her out of the house when she was a teenager after she accidentally got pregnant.

The husband had a messy split with his first wife who moved away to an undisclosed location and took the kids with her.

The husband told the Florida Sun Post that he was never able to find them despite trying, so he got remarried and started a family with his second wife. The second marriage also ended messily. In the end, his luck changed when he won several million dollars in the lottery. He signed up for a dating website and came across his current wife’s profile.

“I just felt strange when I saw her photos,” the man said. “It was like a sense of déjà vu, but at the time I couldn’t figure out why she seemed so familiar.“

The couple, who wishes to remain anonymous, have no plans to divorce.

“If we’d never found out, we would’ve lived out lives happily together, and us being related shouldn’t change that,” the 68-year-old said.
