ESPN Anchor Suspended for Saying This About the Dallas Cowboys

ESPN anchor Jemele Hill is in hot water after some tweets she left on her Twitter.

The anchor has been suspended for encouraging a Dallas Cowboys boycott on the social media site.

She tweeted, “Don’t ask Dak, Dez & other Cowboys players to protest. A more powerful statement is if you stop watching and buying their merchandise.”

Hill will be suspended for two weeks after the remarks for violating the company’s social media guidelines.

The comments came after reports revealed that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones would ban any player from playing who “disrespects the flag.”

“Jemele Hill has been suspended for two weeks for a second violation of our social media guidelines,” ESPN said in a statement.

“She previously acknowledged letting her colleagues and company down with an impulsive tweet. In the aftermath, all employees were reminded of how individual tweets may reflect negatively on ESPN and that such actions would have consequences. Hence this decision.”
