Carrie Fisher Is In Critical Condition After Suffering A Heart Attack On A Plane

Carrie Fisher is in critical condition according to the Los Angeles Times, after suffering a full cardiac arrest on Friday while aboard a plane. The plane was headed from London to LAX.

Public information officer Alicia Hernandez told Variety that airport police had responded at 12:15 p.m. PT to a woman with a medical emergency on a plane on Terminal 7. At the time they could not confirm her identity.

TMZ reported that Fisher went into cardiac arrest around 15 minutes before the plane landed at LAX. The Los Angeles County Fire Department was then on the scene performing CPR and she was transferred to a hospital for treatment.

United Airlines made the following statement, “Medical personnel met United flight 935 from London to Los Angeles upon arrival today after the crew reported that a passenger was unresponsive. Our thoughts are with our customer at this time and any requests for additional information should be directed to local authorities.”

Fisher is most notably known for her role as Princess Leia in Star Wars. She recently wrote a memoir titled, “The Princess Diarist,” which she has been promoting on a tour.
