Beyonce’s Ivy Park Could Do Big Things for Adidas
Several celebrities in recent days have been running to their social media gushing to show the world that they have received Beyonce’s Ivy Park collection.
The world is now waiting for it to go on sale so they can start buying items themselves.
Beyonce’s new adidas x Ivy Park activewear collection will debut in Adidas stores and online on Friday and Adidas is already hoping the brand will be big.
Analysts say Ivy Park could surpass Yeezy sales, the brand of Kanye West which launched in February of 2015.
“It’s a dream come true to re-launch IVY PARK as the sole owner,” Beyonce said in a statement. This is the pop star’s first collaboration with Adidas.
According to Adidas, Beyonce is the first black women to be the sole owner of an athleisure brand. She has 133 million social media followers on Instagram alone and according to Bank of America Merrill Lynch, is the sixth most followed person in the world.
“In-line with adidas approach on other franchises, we would expect there to be a low volume, high priced launch … to create brand heat and in the following years the brand will likely become more democratized,” says the November research note by Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
“Initially, Ivy Park will be smaller than Yeezy, but Ivy Park has the potential to be larger, if managed properly,” says Matt Powell, a senior footwear analyst at NPD Group.
