Atlanta Braves Beat Astros to Win First World Series Since 1995

In an event that finally broke a 26-year World Series drought, the Atlanta Braves walked away as the champions this week of the 2021 World Series.

The team won for the first time since 1995 with a 7-0 win over the Houston Astros on Tuesday to seal the best-of-seven championship 4-2.

It also marked the second Braves World Series title since the team moved to Atlanta from Milwaukee in 1966.

Getting to this spot also included the team winning series victories over the Milwaukee Brewers and defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers before beating the favored Astros in the best-of-seven ‘Fall Classic’.

The Braves are planning a two-part parade this Friday that starts at noon and will begin in the city of Atlanta and culminate in Cobb County with a concert inside Truist Park and feature Atlanta natives Ludacris and Big Boi.

The parade route will begin at the corner of Marietta Street NW and Peachtree Street and travel North up Peachtree to 10th Street. Then the second phase of the parade will then continue through Cobb County on Cobb Parkway, beginning at the corner of Riverwood Parkway and culminated at Circle 75 Parkway.

“We are having a parade,” Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms told reporters Wednesday. “I think the people in Atlanta and the great people in Cobb County are going to be very pleased with the parade that we have.”

Fans are invited to line the parade route and join the post-parade celebration and concert that will feature Grammy Award-winning artists Ludacris and Big Boi.

Free tickets are required and must be reserved in advance.
