A representative for Angelina Jolie revealed on Monday that the actress will continue to have sold custody of her and Brad Pitt’s six children. The actors both reached a joint agreement for the decision.

According to the voluntary agreement, the children who range in ages from 8 to 15, will continue to have ‘‘therapeutic visits’’ with Pitt for the time being.

The statement on Monday also revealed that the agreement was made more than a week ago.

In September, Angelina Jolie had filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, citing irreconcilable differences. Her attorney had said at the time that the divorce was “for the health of her family.”

‘‘We believe that all sides are committed to healing the family and ask for your consideration during this difficult time,’’ Monday’s statement said.

According to the Associated Press, Pitt was accused of abuse towards Maddox Jolie Pitt, their eldest son.
