28 Year Old UFC Fighter Passes Away
Josh Samman, a UFC fighter who was found unresponsive in his Florida apartment last Thursday, has passed away. He was in comatose for several days.
A friend found Samman in his apartment, along with his roommate Troy Kirkingburg who was pronounced dead at the scene. Kirkinburg was an announcer for local MMA promotions.
Police have suspected a drug overdose, but there was no foul play at the scene. Samman’s mother has also denied that heroin was involved.
In a statement, Samman’s mother had said, “Josh is still in a coma, and more tests are being done. That is the latest update on my son’s condition. And in spite of speculation, there was no heroin found in Josh’s system whatsoever. No matter what people are posting on social media.”
Samman first debuted as a cast member on season 17 of “The Ultimate Fighter.”
During his UFC tenure, Samman went 3-2 and had a fight against Oluwale Bamgbose scheduled for on Dec. 9 at UFC Fight Night in Albany.
