In what only nightmares are made of for parents, a young Texas boy is clinging for dear life after being allegedly set on fire by other children.

According to his family, 10-year old Kayden Culp, who is hearing impaired, is on life support at a San Antonio hospital.
Culp is suffering from first- and second-degree burns as well as a lung infection.

In a statment from Kerrville Fire Marshall Chris Lee, a juvenile had been charged with first-degree arson “as the individual responsible for causing the victim’s severe burns.” The juvenile was unidentified in both name and age.

Donya Young told InsideEdition.com that it was on Sunday that Trysten Culp, the young boy’s mother, received a text message that said her son was burned and told her where to find him.

Kayden had been out riding his bike and didn’t come home for lunch. When his mother arrived, the boy was being loaded into an ambulance, the friend said.

The fire marshal’s findings are expected to be announced Thursday.
