Wendy’s Just Threw Shade at McDonald’s… Again

McDonald’s made headlines this week announcing that it would begin to offer fresh beef in its Quarter Pounders as well as its Signature Crafted Recipe sandwiches at a quarter of its U.S. locations.

Its been years that rival Wendy’s has thrown shade at the fast food giant for their frozen patties and the company did it again.

Wendy’s tweeted, “Hey @McDonalds, heard the news. Happy #NationalFrozenFoodDay to you for all the frozen beef that’s sticking around in your cheeseburgers.”

The rival also tweeted, “Poor Big Mac®, stuck with frozen beef.”

Wendy’s actually went on to post several tweets with pictures of hamburgers that would continue to have frozen beef patties and notes of sarcasm along with the pictures.

“Some people are going to use fresh beef in SOME cheeseburgers, SOME of the time,” Wendy’s tweeted. “We believe in using fresh, never frozen beef in every cheeseburger everyday.”

Wendy’s chief concept and marketing officer Kurt Kane explained to Business Insider why the company went on a rampage on social media to call out McDonald’s.

“We wanted to make sure that people aren’t confused about what is communicated and what is reality,” he said.
