Verizon (VZ) Customers Are Pissed Off Over This

Posted on

Verizon may be the nation’s largest wireless carrier, but the company is also angering a lot of customers in recent weeks.

The monthly average of complaints lodged against the company from January through August had been 180. In September, customers reportedly filed a whopping 2,079 complaints. This is according to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which regulates cellphone carriers.

According to figures and interviews that The Cleveland Plain Dealer has obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, these complaints revolved around unexplained spikes in data usage and overage fees that have hit thousands of Verizon customers in the past several weeks.

If Verizon is under investigation, we won’t know for now as an FCC spokesman said it was against the agency’s policy to confirm if a company is under investigation.

“We’re investigating every single situation the FCC refers to us, as well as those we identify from media reports,” wrote Verizon spokeswoman Kelly Crummey, in an email.
