United Airlines May Have Just Pissed Off Even More Fliers
United Airlines hasn’t had the best publicity in the last year, especially after an unfortunate french bulldog passed away in an overhead bin.
The company quietly did something last week that may anger some fliers. The airline is “streamlining” it’s food service on flights that are under four hours. This includes almost every flight the airline operations domestically, excluding transcon service between the two coasts.
The airline will be replacing hot breakfasts on some routes with fruit plates and muffins. Some lunches will be switched out for wraps and chocolate slabs. Sprite Zero will not be offered anymore as well as Tomato juice.
Instead of tomato juice, the airline will offer an extra can of Mr. and Mrs. T Bloody Mary mix.
One source said, “We are once again in full apology mode now onboard our flights, although the issue (of the disappearing tomato juice) is a more minor one compared to the forced removal of customers or suffocating dogs.”
The airline will also stop offering Jim Beam, Courvoisier and Amaretto.
A United Airlines spokesperson said, “With all of our food offerings, we monitor customer feedback and what they would prefer and adjust accordingly.”
