The U.S. election is this Tuesday and Twitter is doing what it can to not leave anyone discouraged from voting. The social media site has deleted over 10,000 accounts that have sought to discourage voting.

The Democratic Party flagged misleading messages to Twitter according to Twitter. The company said that the accounts had posted messages that discouraged people from voting and wrongly had appeared to be from Democrats.

The accounts had been deleted in late September as well as early October. A company spokesman said, “We took action on relevant accounts and activity on Twitter.”

Millions of accounts had been deleted by Twitter that were believed to be responsible for spreading false information in the 2016 U.S. election for president which Donald Trump won.

According to three people close to the operation, who spoke to Reuters, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, or DCCC, had launched an effort this year in response to the party’s inability to respond to millions of accounts on Twitter and other social media platforms which were spreading negative and false information about Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton as well as other party candidates in 2016.
