This Star is Lined Up to be KFC’s Next Colonel
KFC, known for its fried chicken and white mustache bearing Colonel Sanders, has picked a new star to portray the Colonel.
It’s no other than Jason Alexander, the man who played George Costanza on Seinfeld.
The Louisville-based company named Jason Alexander for its latest colonel who will help sell the chain’s $20 Fill Ups, a meal deal intended for families of four.
According to the press release, the meal deal comes in four options which are: new boneless breast fillets, Original recipe, Extra Crispy or Extra Crispy Tenders. All four also come with sides and biscuits. A smaller $10 bucket is available for two- people.
“Modern families want and need mealtime to be simple and stress-free. KFC knows this can be a feat when the clock strikes 5 p.m. and wants to help families solve the dinnertime challenge without sacrificing taste,” the release wrote. “To do just that, KFC has enlisted sitcom king Alexander to offer its $20 Fill Ups four different ways, including a new boneless filet $20 Fill Up.”
KFC’s advertising with Alexander has already started running this week.
“As the son of two working parents, there were plenty of dinner times when a bucket of chicken and all the fixins saved the day,” Alexander said in the release. “It’s been fun to combine my personal love for KFC with my sitcom experience into a new take on the role of Colonel Sanders.”
