This Fast Food Restaurant is About to Launch Meatless Burgers in Europe
Fast food giant Burger King is about to launch meatless burgers all across Europe and will be testing more of its Impossible burgers here in the U.S.
Burger King’s parent company The Restaurant Brands International has announced that vegetarian burger will be launched in over 20 markets across Europe starting on Tuesday while its beef patties will be substituted for Impossible patties in its Whopper Jr. burgers and signature hamburgers in the U.S.
Burger King has seem amazing results with its Impossible Whopper so far, revealing that same-store sales exploded by 5% in the third quarter. This was the largest jump for the company since 2015.
The Restaurant Brands International chain aims to launch a vegetarian burger in more than 20 markets across Europe. The Rebel Whopper, made with patties from Unilever-owned The Vegetarian Butcher, will be available in more than 2,400 European locations this week.
Burger King has said that 180 restaurants in Milwaukee, Cedar Rapids, Augusta, Cincinnati and Buffalo will test the extended Impossible burger line.
“The Impossible Whopper is a huge hit with our guests and has quickly become one of the most successful product launches in Burger King’s history,” Restaurant Brands CEO Jose Cil told analysts back in October.
According to Cil, the company is also working to on meatless products in Asia and Latin America too.
Shares of Restaurant Brands is up 28% so far this year.
