Target Is Planning to Do Something Special For Thanksgiving
Big box retailer Target announced that it has plans to open its doors an hour earlier this year for Thanksgiving. Target will be opening up shot at 5pm on the holiday and will close its doors at 1 a.m.
With Black Friday the next day, Target will re-open its doors at 7.am.
Other retailers including Kohl’s and Macy’s also announced their plans to open up at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
A Target spokeswoman commented on the past holidays to CNBC and said, “We’ve had lines outside our stores across the country. She added, “In fact, some guests show up hours in advance of opening. That tells us there’s a desire from our guests to start their holiday shopping earlier.”
The company also said there would be a new mobile checkout option in stores this year that lets customers skip the line. Employees will walk around with handheld devices to help scan items and speed up transactions.
