Target Gears up for Holidays by Offering Free Two-day Shipping
Big box retailer Target just brought out the big guns. The company said that it will be offering for the first time ever, free two-day shipping with no minimum purchase starting on November 1st.
The promotion will run from November 1st through December 22nd.
The company said it’s going to have more than 1,400 new and exclusive gifts for sale later this year, many under $15. It also announced that its “Drive Up” service which lets shoppers place orders online and have them be brought to their cars, will hit almost 1,000 stores ahead of a planned rollout schedule.
“I have never felt better about our position and our readiness to deliver against the holiday season,” CEO Brian Cornell said this week. He added, “As those [Toys R Us and Sears] stores close, its real market share that’s up for grabs.”
“Our stores are at the center of that strategy,” he also commented. “It gives us great agility and speed to meet the needs of ” customers.
