T-Mobile (TMUS) Has Something That Will Re-invent Your Phone Number
T-Mobile has introduced a new service called Digits, that will reinvent how you use your phone number. The service lets you use your regular old number across multiple devices.
This means, iPhones, android phones, your tablet, computer, your smart watch, etc.
You can add multiple phone numbers to a single device. This means if you have both a work line and a personal line, you can use one device for them both.
The service is now in closed beta, and a limited number of T-Mobile customers are able to use it. There has been no pricing discussed as of yet.
When a user signs up for Digits, they can download the Digits app onto another phone (such as an old Verizon phone), and on this phone they can place calls and send messages, using their T-mobile number.
The service will also work on laptops and desktops so you can make calls and send messages using your browser.
Users will need to have an active T-Mobile postpaid account and an Android phone running Android 5.0 or newer, an iPhone running iOS 9 or newer and either Firefox or Chrome for your Mac or PC. Apple’s iMessage will not work with the Digits beta.
