Starbucks (SBUX) Has Started Offering Green Cups And People Hate Them

Posted on

It seems like Starbucks can never please everyone when they release their holiday cups. Last year the red cup had a lot of backlash, and this year’s new green cup is facing the same scrutiny.

Along with releasing their popular holiday beverages, the Chestnut Praline Latte Caramel Brulee Latte, and the Peppermint Mocha, Starbucks has started serving their drinks in green holiday cops. Featuring an illustration by Shogo Ota, the cup features the faces of more than a hundred people, drawn with a single continuous line.

“The green cup and the design represent the connections Starbucks has as a community with its partners (employees) and customers,” Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz said in a statement.

“During a divisive time in our country, Starbucks wanted to create a symbol of unity as a reminder of our shared values, and the need to be good to each other.”

People have already hit Twitter to show their distaste for the cup. Liz J tweete, “I need an explanation for this ugly ass green cup from Starbucks.”

Will Starbucks ever be able to please everyone?
