Starbucks Says It Now Has 100% Pay Equity for Women and Men

Coffee powerhouse Starbucks announced on Wednesday that the company has achieved pay equity for its workers in the U.S.

The company is hopign to achieve this same goal for its global workforce one day.

Starbucks says it has reached 100% pay equity for women and men, and employees of all races in the U.S. In a statement at the company’s annual shareholder meeting in Seattle, executive vice president and chief partner officer Lucy Helm remarked, “The gender pay gap is real and Starbucks is committed to not only talking about it but addressing it.”

“We believe it is important, as company of our scale, to help bring more attention to this critical issue,” Helm explained.

“Starbucks has consistently outperformed our industry in terms of pay equity, but it is incumbent upon us to do more,” Helm said.
