In light of the fatal crashes of two of Boeing’s 737 Max Jets in just months, Southwest Airlines has removed the jet from its schedule through Aug. 5th.

There is no word on how many flights will be canceled as a result of the grounding of the jets, but other airlines including American Airlines and United Airlines have also canceled thousands of flights due to the groundings.

Southwest has suspended all 34 of its Max jets from its fleet of more than 750 Boeing 737 models after the Max’s anti-stall software was implicated in an Ethiopian crash last month. The crash had killed 157 people.

American Airlines canceled roughly 1,200 flights in March while United Airlines canceled 737 Max flights through June 5.

“The limited number of customers, who have already booked their travel and will be affected by this amended schedule, are being proactively notified so that we can reaccommodate their flight plans well in advance of their travel date,” Southwest President Tom Nealon stated.

Southwest airlines has more than 750 Boeing 737 in its fleet Now 34 of those are MAX 8.
