So Far This is How Many Subscribers Disney+ Has Reached

Disney+ only launched on Tuesday but it has already 10 million subscribers. The company announced on Wednesday that it had signed up 10 million customers for its Disney+ streaming services within the first day of its broad international launch. Shares rallied over 7% on the news.

Disney’s brand new streaming platform that offers Disney classics as well as many Marvel films, had more customers sign up in one day than many streaming services have signed up in their entire existences.

The company estimates that by 2024, it will have in the range of 60 to 90 million subscribers.

Disney is offering a seven-day free trial so many of the signs up may not represent customers will who stay on.
Verizon is also offering its customers a free year of Disney+ which could help boost the subscriber number.

In comparison, Netflix today has 158 million subscribers and was launched in 2007. Hulu, which began in 2007, has 28.5 million subscribers in the U.S. ESPN+ began streaming last year and has accumulated 3.5 million subscribers as of November. Amazon doesn’t disclose the number of Amazon Prime Video users.
