Snapchat Just Signed an Olympic Deal With This Company
It was an exciting day for Snapchat on Wednesday. It was revealed that the social media company will be presenting content at the Winter Olympics in 2018 at Pyeongchang.
The company has reached a deal with Eurosport, a pan-European television sports network, owned and operated by Discovery Communications, which is the exclusive TV and multimedia rights holder for 50 countries and territories in Europe for the Olympic Games from 2018-2024.
The partnership between Snap Inc. and Eurosport is for a European, multi-language deal which will see Winter Olympics content as part of Snapchat’s ‘stories’ feature. The move could help reach a younger demographic.
“We are thrilled to bring the excitement and passion of the Olympic Games directly to Snap’s dynamic and engaged younger audience, allowing Discovery to deliver on its promise to bring the Games to more people across more screens in Europe than ever before” said Michael Lang, who is the President of International Development and Digital for Discovery International.
